SHREWSBURY, NJ - On August 20, 2008, Inc.com, the online forum of Inc. magazine, ranked Discovery – The Financial Information Group Inc. 75 out of the top 100 companies in financial services across the nation and 55 out of the 165 companies in New Jersey. Discovery placed 1,478 overall in the second annual Inc. 5,000 list of fastest growing private companies in the country.

Nicholas Stuller, president of Discovery, was glad to see the company make the list for the second year in a row as approximately half the companies on last year’s listing did not make the 2008 list. He is also excited to see how this will motivate his employees and how Discovery will place in next year’s ranking. “The Inc. 5000 is a wonderful measuring tool for us to gauge how well Discovery is doing in comparison to similar companies across the nation,” Stuller said.
By improving its products and services throughout the years, Discovery is able to constantly meet the changing demands of the financial industry. “This year we have proven that we are continually rising to the challenge,” Stuller said, “and providing the best products and services available.” He feels that the Inc. 5000 listing is a helpful asset in giving employees a feasible measurement in which they can easily interpret in order to set, and reach, higher goals.
“All the improvements Discovery make show that we are always pursuing higher goals and standards,” Stuller said. “The Inc. 5000 ranking gives us motivation to work harder and provide our clients with the most up-to-date information and marketing services.”
One such improvement Discovery has made is the implementation of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The ESOP is seen as the continued progression of Discovery’s success that allows its employees to have partial ownership of the company and its success. “This plan motivates employees to look out for Discovery’s best interests,” Stuller said, “which in turn assures our clients that Discovery has their best interests in mind.”
