Equipped with a child’s wheelbarrow and leaf rake, your children will be ready for one of the most enjoyable aspects of autumn gardening. For young children, there is little to beat the fun of creating huge piles of autumn leaves and jumping into the pile.
To celebrate the start of autumn and falling leaves, Spotty Boxes have introduced a leaf rake to their Children’s Gardening collection. The rake (which can also be used as a lawn rake) is a quality tool with a wooden handle and metal head. On its own, the leaf rake costs £5.95 but it is available at half price if bought with either a pink children’s wheelbarrow or a green children’s wheelbarrow. Both of the child’s wheelbarrows cost £19.95.(http://www.spottygiftboxes.co.uk/
Before leaping enthusiastically into their leaves, children should be encouraged to check that there are no hedgehogs or other creatures hiding in the pile preparing for a winter’s hibernation.
Once the important business of jumping has been completed, enjoy a break by sitting outside with hats, gloves and a delicious mug of hot chocolate (served at a temperature appropriate to the age of the child). This will restore energy ready to collect the leaves for composting. Rake the leaves into a large pile and load them into the wheelbarrow to take to the leaf compost bin.
A fun activity, happy children and a tidy garden. What a splendid result!
