With fall just around the corner, the merchants of First Avenue South are busy planning their fourth annual Block Party to kick off the season and celebrate their close-knit community. Scheduled for Friday, September 12 from 4 to 9 p.m., the fun-filled event will feature delicious food, a wine garden, art, live music and more.
Guests are invited to try delicious menus from The Wild Wheat Bakery, Bittersweet and Spiro’s Greek Isle and specialty food items at Bella home & garden; see jewelry designs by artists Holly Yashi, Tivi and Vinosus at Earthworks Gem Design Studio; watch Auburn Mountainview High School’s jewelry arts program make handmade glass beads; stop by new store Cypriana and other local merchants, vendors and artists; and so much more!
Debra Page will kick off the live music, followed by Brazilian musician Eduardo Mendonca (6 – 7:30 p.m.) who is sponsored by 4Culture by the Kent Arts Commission, and Grey Sky Falling sponsored by The Wild Wheat Bakery, Kent Downtown Partnership and the merchants of First Avenue South.
The First Avenue Block Party will be held rain or shine on First Avenue South in downtown Kent, between Gowe and Titus Streets. Street parking is available throughout downtown, or visitors can park in the free public lot at the corner of Titus and First Avenue South.
