King Black Acid and the Sacred Heart
King Black Acid and the Sacred Heart play a special show at the Doug Fir, Saturday September 20th where they will be introducing songs from the soon to be released UnderWorld 3 soundtrack. After a long break from the stage King Black Acid is back with a new line up of players and a strong new set of kick ass material. The new KBA line up includes founder Daniel Riddle on guitar and vocals, Jeff Trapp (ex-Everclear)
King Black Acid has recently been asked to do a few songs for the UnderWorld 3 soundtrack on Lakeshore films, to be released early next year. The new songs for the film will be performed live for the first time at this event. Showcasing the bands ability to write powerful epic anthems that lend themselves to both werewolves and vampires fucking and fighting as well as angst ridden youth taking to the streets in a revolutionary uprising.
The new songs are distilled, streamlined and super charged with energy. Shedding most of the lush atmospherics and hypnotic ambiance of past KBA line ups for a sound that Riddle says is "Heavy Like a Chevy with more hooks than a f*cking pirate convention."
Supporting the show will be local legends in the making Tango Alpha Tango. Tango is gaining fans and capturing audiences everywhere with there amazing live shows and powerful pop hooks. Riddle's past credits include lead singer and founder of long time Portland avant tribal industrial group Hitting Birth. The group dominated the Northwest music scene from the late 80's to the early 90's with it's highly theatrical live shows that packed out 1000 plus capacity venues to fanatical crowds that danced as if they were members of an orgiastic war party. H.B. was featured in Rolling Stone magazine, Spin, Village Voice, etc.. They shared the stage with acts like Nirvana (Quoted as Kurt Kobain's favorite Portland band) Gwar, Neurosis, etc..
Riddle also writes, records and performs with James Angell's Private Player. John Taylor on bass(Duran Duran) Tony Lash on Drums (Elliott Smith, Heatmiser) Daniel Riddle guitars and vocals, and Sean T. on guitar (King Black Acid, Stimulator)
