Dr. Warren holds a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Public Administration from Brigham Young University, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Norwich University in Northfield, VT.
He brings approximately 15 years of successful higher education leadership experience, beginning as an adjunct faculty member, then the Director of Faculty and Acting Dean of the School of Professional Programs at Shorter College in Rome, GA.
At the University of Phoenix (UoP) he served as Director of Academic Affairs for the Honolulu, HI and Boston locations. Excelling as the Chief Academic Officer at these two schools, Dr. Warren was then promoted to Campus Director at the Pittsburgh, PA school. He led this struggling campus to a financially stable position within his first year as Campus Director.
Dr. Warren then took on the challenge of moving to the UoP campus in Heidelberg, Germany, where he administered and oversaw a ten year Tri-Service US Government contract to deliver MBA and MA ED programs to Active Duty, Department of Defense employees and family members in Europe. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, Dr. Warren was able to quickly make a positive difference in helping this population of students achieve their academic goals.
After three years in Germany, Dr. Warren accepted an appointment as Vice-President for Operations for Post University in Waterbury, CT, where he was responsible for assisting the President in the day to day operations of this 1,100 student campus.
In May of 2008 Dr. Warren joined The Art Institutes’ Executive Development Program, and has completed the Presidential training program. Effective August 18, 2008, he became the President of The Art Institute of New York City.
“I am very excited about the appointment and look forward to leading and supporting the New York City campus in fulfilling the school’s Mission and Strategic Planning goals. As enrollment in Art & Design programs continues to grow, we will continue to meet the evolving demands of the marketplace with quality innovative new programs.”
