WASHINGTON DC – BlackMen Magazine returns to Washington DC for its 5th Annual Swimsuit Competition at FUR Nightclub on Saturday, September 20th, 2008 at 6:30PM. This year’s event is presented by TaylorMade Model Management, Inc. and Kendesi Club, LLC and will be hosted by legendary publisher, John Blassingame. This year’s event is sponsored by Bally Total Fitness and ModelsInPrint.com
The BlackMen Magazine Swimsuit Competition was started in Washington DC four years ago. Since, it has grown every year and launched the careers of numerous models including last year’s winner, Safaa "Superstar" Alhanash. She has gone on to do promotional work for numerous companies including Pink Vodka and Budweiser. And she has since hosted celebrity events with Grammy-Nominated R&B sensation Raheem DeVaughn, The Washington Wizards, The Washington Redskins, Big Tigger and Gloria Velez.
This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet featuring more than 50 local and national models competing for more than $5,000 in prizes. Special invited guests and celebrity judges include QuickSilva of WKYS 93.9, DJ Kayslay of HOT 97, Model Lizz Robbins, Ray Chotes of DC Music & Models, Glamour Photographer William Cenac, Fred Davis of Versus Magazine and many more.
Models interested in participating in this years contest will need to attend a casting at Bally Total Fitness on Friday, September 12th from 6PM-9PM at Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia or Saturday, September 13th from 1PM-5PM at The Mall At Prince Georges in Hyattsville, Maryland or Sunday, September 14th from 1PM-5PM at Hampton Mall in Capitol Heights, Maryland.
