Whilst pregnant with our second child, Charlotte, Jane became increasingly frustrated with existing internet sites that were full of strict rules and regulations and an increasing amount of catty comments directed from certain members towards new members. At this point she decided she would start her own without the harshness and unfriendliness.
The Mummy's Club was born.
In the first few days there were only 2 members, Jane and I. We used this time to make sure everything worked, the servers were functioning properly and everything was ready.
She sent 1 email to a friend of hers on another site who instantly joined. In turn, she sent an email out and so it began. The message boards filled up, the member count increased and to date in just a few months we have 226 active members and the site gets approximately 6 million page views each month.
www.themummysclub.co.uk is seen by the members as their daily escape from the mundane side to pregnancy/childcare. Someone is always on the site at all times of the day with helpful advice for those in need, a chat and a gossip for those seeking adult conversation and a great sense of community.
Members are from all parts of the UK from the top of Scotland right down to the bottom of Cornwall. We even have some members in Europe and 2 in Australia! Some are Trying to Conceive and are looking for hints and tips to those with multiple children offering advice and a helping hand.
