Boosting Your Personal Career: Have You Ever Considered Taking A Gap Year?

Taking a gap year abroad seems to be one of the most effective ways of learning a foreign language.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 26, 2008 -
In our ever-changing multilingual world, it is very well known that learning languages is crucial to enrich ourselves. When acquiring a foreign language, that is to say a language which is not your mother-tongue, considerations that go beyond the mere linguistic process must also be taken into account. For instance, non-verbal phenomena such as paralinguistic, proxemics, kinesics, etc. -the communication’s effects of your gestures, the sound of your voice, the rhythm…- are aspects which differ from every culture and to be mastered for the student so as to get by in a foreign language. This way, not only are equivalent terms acquired when studying a second language, but also the culture. By getting to know it, you will certainly enrich yourself, as we already anticipated. Apart from that cogent reason, there are many other advantages for which to consider studying Spanish, German, French, Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, etc. conscientiously. For instance: to pass official exams, reignite previous knowledge, fulfil your CV, broaden your job opportunities, practise experience in international fields, increase global understanding, sharpen cognitive and life skills, make travel more feasible and enjoyable, meet or contact new people all over the world or even for the fun of it…
Nevertheless, learning a foreign language at a university, language school, academy or similar institution in the country where it is natively spoken really enhances the learning process. Currently, this opportunity seems to be more reachable than ever: From an internship abroad in France, -where you would live abroad and work in the areas of General Business, Accounting and Finance, Travel and Tourism, Social Service…- to a volunteer in Benin, -working side by side with Beninois on community development programmes- or a school of languages, for example thanks to a scuola di lingua -where else would you efficiently learn Italian in Italy?-
Not learning languages is no longer an excuse. Experts indicate that one year-period or so abroad seems to be the perfect time for you to learn a foreign language in any country with guarantee.
After all the exposed, why not taking a gap year? It would certainly be an unforgettable and enriching experience!

We are a company who seek to promote language learning and culture exposure amongst young people.  If this is a field which interests you, you may find these links helpful:
