Schema Holds Corporate Governance and Responsibility Lectures and Workshop

PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 26, 2008 – Schema, which is specialized in offering corporate governance and responsibility advice, has started its first set of corporate governance and responsibility lectures and workshops.  The lectures and workshops are being held at the Amman Chamber of Industry and targets all those with a vested interest in the operations of companies such as shareholders, local and foreign investors, administrative leaders, board members, and stakeholders.

It is worth noting that the although the lectures and workshops are in many ways complimentary, they are designed to allow participants to choose to attend whichever lecture they identify as suitable and applicable to maximize the value to and the time of such participants and provide relevant information.

It is intended that the participant, through the lectures and the workshops will acquire the relevant hands-on knowledge and implementation tools to advance implementation of such practices.

The lectures and the workshops currently cover the following topics: Corporate governance overview, corporate governance in family businesses, the role and responsibility of the board, corporate governance in small companies, corporate governance reports, corporate social responsibility, the impact of corporate social responsibility and a "How to" workshop on corporate governance and another on corporate social responsibility.

It is intended that future programs will take place and they are likely to cover the following topics: How to workshop regarding implementing corporate governance in small and medium-size companies and best practices with respect to new corporate governance regulations for listed companies, banks and insurance companies.

All the lectures and workshops are currently delivered in English.  However, all the lectures, materials, and workshops will be delivered in Arabic in due course.

These lectures and workshops are an important development by Schema aimed at advancing corporate governance and responsibility concepts more effectively, and streamlining their implementation for Jordanian companies.
