AC Recruitment open Gold Coast branch to service ‘Business Boom’

Specialist recruiter AC Recruitment Services has opened its doors in Southport following a considerable increase in the overall number of available jobs in the Hospitality, Accountancy & Finance, Administration and Office Support sectors across the greater Gold Coast region and nearby northern New South Wales.

Marc Vella, Manager of AC Recruitment Services Gold Coast, said the new Southport Central office complex was specifically chosen for its close proximity to clients and candidates with strong growth and demand for skilled staff and management, particularly in the Hospitality industry.

Despite the current economic downturn facing many other regions, the Gold Coast is experiencing record numbers of visitors, bolstering the area’s tourism-based industries and related sectors. As the third largest hotel market in Australia by total number of rooms, the Gold Coast region experienced record occupancy levels of 71.1 pert cent in 2007, up 1.4 per cent from 2006 according to data issued by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Recent data also indicates the Gold Coast has retained its crown as Australia’s premier domestic holiday destination. While domestic visitor nights nationally only increased one per cent in 2007, Tourism Australia data shows Gold Coast bucked this trend by achieving a 5.6 per cent increase. Despite the weakening of the Japanese and North American economies, international visitor numbers also achieved a growth of 0.9 per cent.

This favorable economic environment has created a flow-on effect for many varied businesses in the region, placing skilled labor in high demand.
