SPEX CertiPrep Becomes the First Certified Reference Material Manufacturer to Become A2LA-Accredited

A2LA Accreditation provides solid assurance that all of the Inorganic and Organic Certified Reference Materials in the SPEX CertiPrep catalog comply with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO/IEC Guide 34-2000.

In order to guarantee compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (“General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories”), SPEX CertiPrep is inspected at all levels, from product design to testing to manufacturing to quality control for all products to ensure each product meets designated specification and purity levels.  These requirements are designed to verify that SPEX CertiPrep’s established policies and procedures are scientifically sound when used to determine measured values and that its chemists demonstrate professional competence when carrying out quality-related tests.

ISO/IEC Guide 34-2000 (“General Requirements for the Competence of Reference Material Producers”) is a Quality Guidance Standard with specific requirements for the production of Certified Reference Materials.  It ensures that all of SPEX CertiPrep’s methods are accurate and meet set requirements.  ISO/IEC Guide 34-2000 also requires SPEX CertiPrep to report all uncertainty values and their sources on its Certificate of Analysis, as well as follow rigid requirements for content.
