The meeting, featuring keynote speaker Lily Tomlin, one of America’s foremost comediennes, will serve as a springboard to drive the organization’
s important agenda across new donor groups, particularly female philanthropists, who are quickly becoming one of the driving forces of philanthropy (
http://www.womensenews.org/article.cfm/dyn/aid/3111/conte...). With the support of prominent executives and organizations like Bain Capital and one of its Managing Directors, Josh Bekenstein (
http://bethechangeinc.org/who_we_are), sports teams like the Boston Celtics (http://www.nba.com/
celtics/), and keynote speaker Lily Tomlin, this promises to be one of Horizons for Homeless Children’s best events to date.
The event looks to build on previous events that have resulted in strong new support for Horizons for Homeless Children. The organization, which strives to improve the lives of homeless children and their families, provides homeless children in Massachusetts with the nurturing, stimulation and opportunities for early education and play that all children need to learn and grow in healthy ways (http://www.horizonsforhomelesschildren.org/

. Its gala events and meetings promote consistent attention to the issue of supporting and nurturing homeless children, and the many prominent donors and philanthropists who support Horizons for Homeless Children, which include individual executives such as Bain Capital’s Josh Bekenstein and corporate sponsors such as The Abbey Group, greatly benefit the organization’
s cause and visibility.
Recently, Horizons for Homeless Children held its 12th Annual Recognition and Awards Dinner on June 3, 2008 at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel (http://www.horizonsforhomelesschildren.org/
