Widen Enterprises, a Madison, Wisconsin-based premedia and software as a service provider, is proud to announce the release of the latest version of Backdrop™, its photography workflow management application.
Backdrop by Widen is a web-based image management application for creative professionals that provides photographers with the ability to route images to reviewers and clients for comments and approval. Backdrop’s configurable workflows eliminate time-consuming tasks and provide a high degree of workflow flexibility, as well as seamlessly connect with Widen’s Media Collective® digital asset management application.
Along with other useful feature additions, Backdrop now has plug-in integration with Lightroom 2 software, the photographer's essential toolbox for managing, adjusting and presenting large volumes of digital photographs. The new Backdrop feature enables users of Lightroom 2 to upload images to Backdrop directly from the Lightroom application. The export plug-in provides users with the ability to login to the Backdrop site, choose an upload profile, and specify the desired size and quality of the images to be uploaded.
Other new features to Backdrop include the ability to print images with comments individually or in batch; reporting for uploads and orders; dynamic contact sheets, on which the user can select how many images are displayed; the ability to search photos by upload date; the ability to rate photos and search by rating.
