Sysani FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Aug 25, 2008 – Scientific studies have shown that the household sponge often contains the largest concentration of bacteria in the home. Certain bacteria found in sponges – such as salmonella and E. coli – cause many illnesses each year. Sysani presents a system that kills sponge bacteria easily and effectively. Since bacteria thrive in room temperature and in moisture, Sysani simulates hot and dry conditions in which bacteria would not survive.
Sysani kills sponge bacteria with microwave oven heat. While many people already sanitize sponges in a microwave oven, Sysani eliminates the practice of placing a sponge directly in a microwave oven where it lies in its own moisture and then using bare hands or a utensil to remove the hot sponge. Since Sysani suspends the sponge in mid-air, the sponge dries completely from all sides so that moisture has nowhere to accumulate except for the base below. There are key differences between Sysani and the conventional sponge holder: 1. Sysani is made out of food-grade polypropylene that is safe for the microwave oven; conventional holders are made out of metal or other material not designed for the microwave oven. 2. With Sysani, the sponge hangs in mid-air so all of its sides do not make contact with anything. The open top and vented walls enable airflow to dry the sponge from every angle. As for conventional sponge holders, the sponge lies flat in a tray or leans against a rack where it comes into contact with its own moisture, a condition that promotes bacteria growth. 3. Sysani is kept near the sink, but at a safe distance to prevent the sponge from making contact with splashing liquid or used kitchenware. Many conventional sponge holders are attached to the inside of the sink by suction cups or hooks, making the sponge susceptible to contamination from splashing liquid or used kitchenware. Sysani, LLC was established in 2006 to encourage safe practices and healthy living. Its founder, Alfred Monico, developed Sysani’s patent-pending sponge sanitation system to provide a simple and affordable way to help protect families – especially young children, the elderly, and people with health problems -- from foodborne illnesses. Sysani is a registered trademark of Sysani, LLC. Sysani comes in two color combinations – white/gray or beige/brown – to complement the color scheme of many walls and countertops. One sponge is included with each Sysani. Retail is $12.95 each. Replacement sponges come in assorted colors. Retail is $7.99 for a pack of six. Sysani products become available in October 2008. Orders are currently being accepted. For more information, visit http://www.sysani.com. # # # Sysani, LLC was established in 2006 to encourage safe practices and healthy living.
