Joel Miller has developed a unique process for working with colored papers to produce large works that have the permanence of oil paintings & the brilliance of acrylics. He uses enlargements of his drawings as cutting patterns for the finished work. Papers are cut, intricately layered & sealed to reveal the finest lines, forms & shadings he desires. Ollie Reed, an arts writer for the Albuquerque Tribune, once commented that his work "looks as if it's done with mirrors", full of "color and drama, visual rhythm..." His approach to color & composition focuses on vivid imagery, symbolism & emotional impact. (See attachment and thumbnail below).
Collectors, gallery owners and directors, journalists, fellow artists, colleagues, business associates, and all of their friends are invited to this four-day celebration of Miller’s work.
Miller's works can be viewed on his website: www.CuttingEdgeFineArts.com
