Oshawa Turul S.C. announced today that it will be holding its Second Annual Rep Soccer Tryouts at Kluane Fields, Lakeview Park, Oshawa Ontario the weekend of September 20 and 21, 2008. This weekend promises to be bigger and better than ever. The Turuls have exploded into over 20 teams and continue to grow.
Oshawa Turul S.C. is actively recruiting new coaches that want to join our rapidly growing club. The club is now accepting applications from men and women who wish to coach boys and girls at the competitive level from U8 to Senior. Prospective new coaches, technical directors, trainers, goalie coaches and teams are welcome to attend the tryout weekend or visit www.oshawaturul.com for details and directions.
Oshawa Turul S.C. is Oshawa's elite competitive youth soccer club. Thousands of boys and girls have worn the Turul jersey since its founding year. Many teams have received local, regional and national recognition for their demeanor, discipline and accomplishments. Two notable teams reached the pinnacle of success on the field by winning national titles (U12 boys in 1978, U17 boys in 1989).
Turul is engaging a number of community organizations to help bring affordable soccer to local children, youth and adults. Recently, Turul announced a landmark affiliation agreement with Neighbourhood Association Sports Committee (“NASC”), a volunteer organization that operates local house league soccer programs in Oshawa. Oshawa Italian Recreation Club (“OIRC”) has been the official home of Turul for the last two seasons and continues to be a valued anchor sponsor. OIRC graciously provides meeting rooms, banquet facilities and substantial funding in partnering with Turul to promote the sport to the community. Dnipro Ukranian Cultural Centre’s full size soccer pitch is now the official home of many of our youth teams.
Oshawa Turul Soccer Club is enjoying a huge revival due to the growth of youth soccer, the popularity of professional teams such as Toronto FC, community alliances and interest from young people in joining an affordable elite soccer program. "We are aggressively recruiting talent that will make us stronger on and off the field. We are looking for sponsors, volunteers, coaches and new teams that will join us in developing soccer within the community. Visit our website at www.oshawaturul.com to contact us. ", stated Rito Salomone, Oshawa Turul Soccer Club, Director, Public Relations.
