LEHIGH HANSON EXPANDS AT BISHOP RANCH
22,000 Square Foot Lease Signed at Bishop Ranch 15 for
Regional Office Expansion and Consolidation
SAN RAMON, Calif. — August 15, 2008 – Sunset Development Company, an investment builder and developer of Bishop Ranch, today announced that Lehigh Hanson signed a lease to expand occupancy. Hanson Aggregates West, an existing Bishop Ranch tenant, was recently acquired by global market leader HeidelbergCement, and joined with their wholly-owned direct subsidiary Lehigh Cement Company. The new entity, Lehigh Hanson, will to occupy 22,000 square feet of office space at Bishop Ranch 15. Lehigh Hanson plans to expand operations in San Ramon and consolidate Lehigh’s Concord and Hanson’s Pleasanton regional offices in December 2008.
The move will allow Lehigh Hanson to bring employees from offices in Concord, Pleasanton and San Ramon under one roof. The newer building at Bishop Ranch 15 — a four-building, 786,864 square foot complex located at 12657 Alcosta Boulevard, is approximately two-thirds larger than the existing office space at Bishop Ranch 2 and will house more than 75 employees. The premises will be built to Lehigh Hanson’s specific requirements.
“In the past six months we have leased over 650,000 square feet and that in itself speaks volumes for our growing business community,” said Ed Hagopian, senior vice president for Sunset Development Company. “We attribute this momentum to the value, services, and flexibility we offer.”
“Our relocation allows us to consolidate three offices locally in the East Bay, while concurrently establishing a corporate platform to manage the much larger West Region of the group,” said Dave Hummel, president of Lehigh Hanson West Region. “We are delighted to expand with Bishop Ranch’s business community and certainly the community at large, as well, in San Ramon.”
Lehigh Hanson will join Armanino McKenna, Sprint, 24 Hour Fitness, FedEx and Toshiba, which have headquarters and regional offices, respectively, at Bishop Ranch 15. Bishop Ranch remains the premier destination for corporate relocation in Northern California.
Jeff Weil of Colliers International represented Lehigh Hanson in the transaction.
