Mick Courcier from Sterling Trust has asked UK businesses and organisations to join his charity in trying to rid the UK from the misery of unsecured debt.
He stated, "UK businesses are currentlty losing millions of man hours and billions of pounds every year due to sickness and absenteeism. Much of this can be attributed to stress related illness arising out of serious debt issues. Many families are being broken up, homes are being lost and even lives too because of the mounting pressure to repay an ever increasing level of unsecured borrowing.
We have seen personal debt escalate to such a degree that there are more credit cards in Brtain than people, the UK holds over 75% of the entire European credit card debt total and homes are being repossessed at record levels. It's time to stop the rot. We would like to see business and other charities or organisations join with us to stamp out this epidemic.
By educating people and helping them to help themselves, we can begin to move forward and allow people to restructure their lives. Too much emphasis in recent years has been put on how much we can borrow without a care in the world for how the hell we are meant to repay it! Now it's all coming home to roost as the global economy faces meltdown!
We would like to help people get back on firm financial ground and put Britain at the forefront when the global economy kickstarts again. The UK is an economic power to be reckoned with, but we need to get our act together if we are to lead the world out of recession.
