As the constant evolution of technology continues to make new products available, computer equipment is becoming obsolete at an unprecedented rate. These technological advancements are highly valuable to innovative businesses and computer-savvy consumers, but the amount of computer equipment that gets thrown out each year, over 30 million PCs in the US alone, has staggering affects on the environment.
Miles Technologies, who began the transition to become a paperless office in 2004, is once again doing its part to Go Green by offering its Moorestown corporate headquarters as a designated recycling center for consumers and businesses with unwanted or obsolete computer equipment.
The recycling program reflects an ongoing commitment to providing eco-friendly technological solutions for businesses and consumers alike. “This is the next step for us in continuing to advocate for both technological advancement and ecological preservation,”
In addition to opening its doors to community members who travel to the facility for recycling, Miles also offers customers the option of having their old equipment brought in by IT Consultants who install the customers’ new equipment onsite. The company has a Zero Landfill Policy, which means that no part of any recycled equipment will ever see a landfill. Most of the unwanted equipment gets refurbished and reused in other countries around the world.
Since the recycling container is kept locked, unwanted computer equipment can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8am until 5pm at 300 West Route 38 in Moorestown, NJ. No call is necessary prior to dropping off equipment. There is a $5 charge to have a hard drive wiped out and a $5 charge to recycle a monitor if you are not purchasing a replacement monitor from Miles Technologies.
