On the heels of their successful collaboration on the award winning short film, "Victim", L'oiseau Blanc Films and Haptic Vision are teaming up again to produce their first feature film together. "New Day", a suspense thriller, is in preproduction and is scheduled to begin production in November, 2008 in southeastern Wisconsin.
The film, written by R. Michael Gull and Olivia Barash, will also star the pair, who worked together in 2008's "Victim", also written by and starring Gull. Olivia Barash, who starred in the films "Repo Man" and "Tuff Turf", as well as on the TV series "Fame", and played the groundbreaking role of Sylvia on "Little House On The Prairie", wrote and performed the opening song for "Victim", as well as being featured as a murder victim in still photos. In recent years, Barash has been active in the Los Angeles music scene, and will also be contributing music to "New Day". Gull, who played serial killer Vincent LeBlanc in "Victim", has also starred in the sci-fi thriller "Dust", and has a recurring role as a special agent on the upcoming A&E series, "The Beast", starring Patrick Swayze.
"New Day" is the story of a man who loses his wife in the plane that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001. L'oiseau Blanc Films is currently auditioning actors from both Milwaukee and Los Angeles to fill both major and minor roles, and promises some casting surprises. According to Gull, there will be a few recognizable faces in the film, in addition to Barash.
Production offices are currently being set up in Los Angeles and Milwaukee, to be headed by Barash and Gull, respectively. L'oiseau Blanc Films is in negotiations with Barash for a partnership deal in the production company.
Production for "New Day" is scheduled to begin the first week of November in Milwaukee, and run for 6 weeks.
