Gallup, NM - This morning’s ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Navajo Fine Jewelry and Collectibles wholesale/retail store at 1113 W. Historic Route 66 in Gallup, NM signifies the return of Navajo Arts and Crafts Enterprise (NACE) to the wholesale market. “The wholly Navajo-owned enterprise, through Teme, Inc., now offers a convenient way for jewelry retailers to purchase authentic Navajo-crafted jewelry during their annual buying expeditions.”
explains NACE CEO, Sean T. Henisa. The store opening is comes as a result of the implementation of Henisa’s overall strategic plan for the Enterprise. Vice President of the Navajo Nation, Mr. Ben Shelly, acknowledged the significance of the store opening as the first step in introducing authentic Navajo jewelry to new markets. Vice President Shelly also encouraged Navajo artisans to continue to expand their market presence by taking advantage of online marketing opportunities offered through NACE. Attendees at the ribbon cutting ceremony included: Ben Shelly: Vice President of the Navajo Nation, Roy Dempsey: Honorable Council Delegate, Jonathea D. Tso: Miss Navajo Nation 2007-2008, Sean Henisa: NACE CEO and President and Chairman of the Board for Teme, Inc., Mr. Clarence Chee and Ms. Alice White: Board Members representing NACE and Teme, Inc., Wallace Hammond, Director of Productions for NACE and Teme, Inc., Jonathan Hale: Representative from the Office of the Speaker and members of the community and press.
