1stSource Products now offers a solution to a very common safety problem with chain link gates. Most chain link gates use cantilever rollers without proper guards. All weight bearing exposed rollers 8’0” or less above grade must be guarded or covered per ASTM F2200-02.

1stSource Products now offers cantilever rollers with a “built-in” permanent guard. The integral guard is designed so that it is not easily removed. These rollers (available in both steel and polymer) have sealed-for-life prelubricated bearings (no grease fitting is required) so there is no reason for the guard to be removed. Our rollers are also designed so if initial alignment or adjustment is necessary it can be made without removal of the cover.

1stSource Products also offers a universal cover to allow you to retrofit and protect existing cantilever rollers. These have a mounting bracket that slides between the post and the roller body.

There are several other additional benefits of the guard that you can promote and offer to your customers. Guards provide a more complete and finished appearance to the gate. They also help protect the roller from the elements. In colder environments, snow and ice can build up on the roller and potentially interfere with operation.
