Aug 16, 2008 – Diversity4Obama, an all-volunteer grassroots organization supporting Senator Barack Obama for President – today announced that thousands have signed up from across the country for the September 13th, 2008 Walk for Change event. The event will showcase the diversity of Obama’s supporters and champion his work in to advance community building, environmental justice, and educational and economic opportunities for all people.
The event begins at 12:00 Noon at Freedom Plaza and ends at the Lincoln Memorial at 5:00 p.m. Speakers and performers, representing diverse populations and groups from around the country, will address the crowd on the east side of the Lincoln Memorial once the walkers have arrived at approximately1:
