Sensata Technologies Recognizes Five Suppliers For Excellence

Aug. 15, 2008 - PRLog -- Sensata Technologies recently announced the recipients of its 2007 Supplier Excellence Awards. Five recipients were chosen from Sensata’s worldwide supplier base as a result of their outstanding performance and continuous improvement in supplying materials, equipment and services to Sensata during 2007.

The award winners for 2007 are:

- Mektec International Corporation of San Jose, California, USA
- Capsonic Group LLC of Elgin, Illinois, USA
- During Company, Ltd. of Incheon, South Korea
- Major Electric and Supply Inc. of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA
- Numeral Engineering Sdn. Bhd. of Penang, Malaysia

These suppliers exceeded the criteria established by Sensata’s Purchasing and Quality Leadership Teams.

“The outstanding performance of these suppliers compared with their peers is noteworthy and highly appreciated,”said Sensata Global Purchasing Vice President Gene Golab. “Congratulations to all the winners! Their demonstrated performance will continue to raise the standards of excellence that Sensata and our customers demand in today’s highly competitive environment.”

Golab noted that each year the criterion for selection becomes more challenging. He said, “The suppliers that receive this recognition have stood out from their peers and from their competition. Sensata relies on supplier excellence to help build differentiated products in the marketplace and to provide our company a competitive advantage.”

The 2007 supplier excellence winners were nominated by the Sensata quality and purchasing organizations, endorsed by the company’s commodity procurement teams and approved by Sensata’s executive leadership. Suppliers considered for the award must have a minimum of two years of shipments of $1 million annually to Sensata and achieved a supplier performance scorecard rating in 2007 of 80 (out of 100 possible points) or higher.

Sensata’s Supplier Excellence award program was established in 1984 (when Sensata was part of Texas Instruments) to recognize and honor suppliers whose products or services provide exemplary quality at total best cost, assurance of supply, leading technical solutions and environmental practices and policies.

In its award nomination process, Sensata concentrates on recognizing only suppliers that achieve the highest levels of excellence and demonstrate continuous efforts to set goals that improve performance.
