Owner Sheila Thomsen wanted a picturesque website that would show the new B&B’s many offerings; swimming, fishing, hiking, canoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, bird watching, deer, turkey and pheasant hunting, not to mention the generous photography opportunities!
As a woodworking and hospitality hobby for Paul and Sheila, their new B&B has been a dream come true. “Paul and I took a vinticultural course through the Iowa State Extension to learn how to grow grapes,” states Sheila. “I think once we did that people really started to share our dream.” Many friends and family helped with roofing, various construction projects and planting the vineyard. Now, two months early, InnSpiration B&B has opened its doors for business.
In 2009 InnSpiration B&B will be a proud local sponsor of the Artisans Road Trip (A.R.T.), Northwest Iowa's Self-Guided Open Studio Tour. A.R.T. promotes travel via Iowa’s scenic byways and back roads looking for unique art treasures. The free tour will include 41 Northwest Iowa Artists representing 7 counties. Beyond the fine woodwork, vineyards and art shows, the InnSpiration B&B stands for a much larger cause. Twice a year Paul and Sheila welcome families of physically challenged youth ages 13 – 19 to help them overcome the obstacles of shooting and hunting through special training and events.
