Conflict Gateway launched last week to an inspirational roar of community action.

Noticing that a lot of conflict resolution, peace groups, institutions and charities were disparate and did not communicate, Conflict Gateway's mission was born out of a desire to link these communities together under one simple, easily accessed site. The sites founder spoke of the Conflict Gateway philosophy "We wanted to create a very simple portal that could be accessed from any computer in the world, therefore making it readily available to the many parts of the world without broadband internet access, where many conflict resolution and peace groups operate under tough conditions".

The site allows organisations and individuals in the peace building and conflict resolution sectors to network, share ideas and secure funding and has already helped secure funding to vital peace projects in Uganda.

The site (www.conflictgateway.com) is propelled by community ideals which drive the sites growth and mean users can share resources, and are able to pool collective strengths and network. The energy shown by its contributors so far shows the power of community networking in taking steps to change our world for the better.
