New Doremus Web Poll Finds Nobody Sleeping On Their Money

Investors, given the option of putting money under the mattress or investing in stocks, say that stocks still prevail.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Aug 12, 2008 – There’s no money under the mattresses of investors on Main Street, according to a new Doremus web poll.

Doremus is the specialist business communications agency that takes the complex and makes it compelling. During the month of July and early August, the company asked visitors to their corporate web site:

In this environment, are you better off putting money under the mattress (vs. investing in the stock market)?

The results were heavily in favor of riding out the ups and downs of the current economy.

A surprising 51% of those who responded answered that NO, they did not think hoarding their money away under the mattress was the way to go, even in this volatile market. (Only 26% said they would seek this haven, while 23% were undecided.)

“Even in a highly volatile marketplace,” said Carl Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of Doremus, “people can find investment opportunities and, if history is to repeat itself, they will be rewarded in the long run.”

Marketers at financial services firms who want to reach investors in tough times would be smart to talk about their firm’s track record for identifying long-term growth investments that have withstood the test of challenging economic times.

They might also offer online asset allocation advice for investors at various ends of the employment spectrum … those just starting their careers, those juggling a family and the strains of paying for college, and those with retirement closing in.

Doremus is a specialist in a world of generalists. With offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong and Singapore, it specializes in business communications, helping companies to grow. It does this by leveraging a unique understanding of its clients’ target audiences … taking the complex and making it compelling through intellect, insight, ideas and impact.

Doremus is a part of the Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC). Omnicom is a leading global advertising, marketing and corporate communications company.  Omnicom's branded networks and numerous specialty firms provide advertising, strategic media planning and buying, interactive, direct and promotional marketing, public relations and other specialty communications services to over 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries.
