FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Aug 12, 2008 – Deaf Alerter plc is proud to announce their latest accreditation, which they are honoured to receive from a professional association so highly revered within their industry.

The Association of Building Engineers (ABE), the professional body for those specialising in the technology of building, who recently merged with the Institute of Maintenance and Building Management, has assessed and certified Deaf Alerter’s new 2008 Continuing Professional Development seminar: ‘Fire evacuation communication for disabled people: The law and the solutions,’ as having CPD educational value.

Steve Haseldine, Managing Director of Deaf Alerter plc commented: “We welcome our responsibility to improve the knowledge of professionals involved in the process of specifying, recommending and installing wireless communication systems for disabled people. The seminar identifies the difficulties that employers, service providers, managers, specifiers and engineers have when complying with legislation and relevant British Standards.  It aims to provide a clear understanding of best practice and legal responsibility and offers excellent impartial technical solutions on temporary refuge waiting areas and successful proven methods of communication with disabled people, in the event of a building evacuation.”

After attending the seminar, specifiers or building operators will be able to create an equally safe access or egress environment, for both disabled and non-disabled people alike.

Association of Building Engineers member Paul Hannet, Design Manager at MACE Group was a recent delegate on the new CPD and said: “It was a very useful and informative session that we all learnt important and practical information from.  This will definitely assist me in my role.”

From the overwhelming interest already expressed in Deaf Alerter plc’s new CPD, it is anticipated it will be even more successful than the original CPD: “Fire Safety for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People - The Law and The Solutions’ which has been received by over 4,000 people, with excellent response.

Martyn Coldicott, Deaf Alerter plc’s Technical Director went on to say: “To have our CPD’s accredited by both the Construction CPD Certification Service and the Association of Building Engineers is a fantastic achievement, recognition and thanks has to go to all those at the company who have worked so hard to help make this possible!”

The creation of the new learning presentation was the result of the recent successful launch of Deaf Alerter plc’s new product Refuge Alerter®, for more information visit www.refuge-alerter.com
