On annoknips.com anyone can compile their own biography free of charge. To do so, users enter an event from their lives and upload a corresponding photo (if available). The event is stored with the time and place it occurred. If other users have already uploaded photos of the same place, these can be used to supplement the online biography. In this way "biographies of places" are created at the same time, enabling long-lost friends and acquaintances to be found again.
The service is financed through advertisements faded in appropriate to the address shown on a page. This system enables online advertising to be regionalized with a previously unknown accuracy. A website on annoknips.com that refers to an address or an entry in an online biography displays four ad spaces. Advertisements are assigned to them in real time for the street, city, state and country concerned. At street level it is even possible to place different advertisements for individual house numbers!
annoknips.com provides members who register as street managers for streets in their neighborhood (for free) with free "street" advertising space. Street managers can use this space themselves or place ads from companies in the direct vicinity.
