New women’s tennis rankings released and Maria Sharapova lose her ranking coming in at No. 4 Monday about 12 weeks after she inherited the No. 1 spot.
Maria Sharapova achieved top-ranked women's player in the world after Justine Henin's unexpected retirement May 14. But this is not an easy that Maria Sharapova continue her ranking because Ana Ivanovic's is also in good form and she play in the French Open and Maria’s own performance in the Grand Slam event knocked Sharapova to No. 2. She consequently knock down to No. 3 and on Monday was installed at fourth.
Maria Sharapova has serious torn shoulder tendons injury and last week she already out of the Olympics and also withdraw from U.s Open. Lack of performance is also a solid reason and it could erode her ranking further. But by the grace of GOD she has not got a lot of points to defend this fall , because of last rear’s injury. Expectantly she can build it to the championships, because she had 525 points to defend there.
Ana Ivanovic's is still on the top place with Jelena Jankovic second and Svetlana Kuznetsova is on third place.
Maria Sharapova is on forth, after maria are fifth-rated Serena Williams and No. 6 Elena Dementieva. Dinara Safina went up one place to seventh, pushing Venus Williams to eighth. Agnieszka Radwanska improved one place to ninth, trading spots with Anna Chakveradze.
