Mark Hutcherson commented on my assertion that Barack Obama might be Hillary Clinton's Vice-Presidential running mate. Now with Barack Obama being reportedly establishing a lead over Hillary Clinton, it would appear that they have had their roles reversed. I must admit that I have never seen anything like the resurgence in public voter support than I have seen with Barack Obama. This one man has rolled roughshod over Hillary Clinton like a Chieftain tank without so much as a rearward glance to observe the damage he has inflicted upon her campaign. The voters in Iowa summed it up best when they told pollsters that they were tired of business as usual in Washington and wanted 'change' in the 2008 election for President.
When it comes to 'change', Barack Obama is the man to beat because everything this young Senator from Illinois is refers to centers on change. Will Hillary Clinton be content to settle for second place in the race for the White House? Personally, I have serious doubts that she is interested in the post unless Barack Obama decides to give her similar free reign like that afforded to the present incumbent, Vice-President Dick Cheney. Stranger things have happened, but whilst I detect no serious animosity on the part of Senator Obama vis-à-vis Clinton, at this point in time and he may very well decide to avail himself of the undeniable weight her support lends to his presidential bid.
