The “Uplifting Minds II” Entertainment Conference’s national talent competition showcase, on Saturday, August 16th from 1 – 3 p.m. at Sojourner-Douglas College in the auditorium. It is presented by Boosweet Records and sponsored in part by The Baltimore Times. This is the last date for this year in Baltimore. The competition, hosted by syndication columnist Eunice Moseley and on the turn-table is DJ Fatman, is day two of the conference, which goal is to educate, motivate and showcase young artists in music/vocal, song writing and dance.
On Sunday, August 17th the ULMII entertainment business seminars are held from 1 – 7 p.m. at the offices of The Baltimore Times, 2513 N. Charles Street. Topics include “entertainment law tips,” by Paul Gardner II, Esq.; “starting your own business,” by Munir Bahar (New Business Services); E2P.R/media and promotion strategies,”
Judges at the Sunday talent showcase competition include Grammy Award nominated/ASCAP Award winners Carvin Haggins and Ivan Barias of Karma Productions (Musiq, Chris Brown & Jaheim); entertainment attorney Paul Gardner II (Gardner Law Group); talent promoter Anthony Jeter (Dru Hill/Mario); artist manager Burt Wheeler; booking agent/talent manager Norman Gibson, and Internet radio owner Henry Harris (SpiritCo1.com)
Competitors with top scores in each category will receive the ULMII Award; an image make-over from New York image consultant Angelo Ellerbee (Mary J Blige); 30 days on Internet Radio Hit Center courtesy of Tryon Moore; free session with Burbank, California entertainment attorney Richard Jefferson; free voice lesson session from New Jersey vocal coach Nadiyah Kareem (Superstar Entertainment);
