The tinsel leads are spring woven into the top spider in order to eliminate tinsel lead contact with the cone and the resulting wear created under strenuous conditions. The
spring woven nature of the tinsel leads “eliminates stress on the leads and the spider” according to VP Sales, Ashkan Tabibnia. The dual 4 ohm voice coil is wound around an aluminum voice coil former which serves as a heat sink to the voice coil allowing the 1236 to more efficiently handle high power amplifiers.
