We are interested in presenting to our audience as many unusual and interesting restaurants as we can find as well as ones generally considered popular, and absolutely as many restaurants that offer haute cuisine at bistro prices as we can scour up—not an easy task though we are constantly searching!
In the past, published print guidebooks were widely used to locate restaurants and other establishments when traveling and to provide information about where to go in an unfamiliar city. What usually appeared in these books was outdated material, which might have included restaurants that were already shut while newly opened, highly popular establishments that had recently opened, were excluded.
Today, reams of information are available on the internet, available instantly wherever you might be, through the use of a mini “netbook” or “smartphones”
Most of the so called restaurant reviews to be found with a web search engine are not offering critical insights; they are only listing basic details in alphabetical or categorical order. Even more worrying is the new breed of internet “lazy” guides, which even include some former respected publications. These websites let the readers write their own reviews for their site and delete posts that are in any way negative to their advertisers, which are usually large chains or commercial restaurants. What appears in these columns or forums is a hodgepodge of mostly pure rubbish, written by persons that haven’t the first clue about restaurant dining, but become instant authorities on the subject.
Restaurant Dining Critiques will post up-to-date information about existing and impending ventures in the culinary world. However, it would be only fair to explain to our readers that they will have to exercise some patience, as it will take some time to attain full content for each city or region as this is all personally researched and written by me, unfortunately, there is not a staff of writers and editors backing me up.
