Why do men hesitate to express their feelings and fears like women do? Why can’t they be like the wives who can multi-task with kids, prepare a meal and talk on the phone all at the same time? Why can’t they follow instructions in marriage self-help books? These are the questions with which society has stigmatized men and husbands. The same stigma which has led numerous marriages to failure. Among the many relationship books the market has to offer, one book stands out: The Secrets of Happily Married Men: Eight Ways to Win Your Wife’s Heart Forever by Dr. Scott Haltzman. The book provides new and effective ways for men and women to understand and appreciate each other without losing the essential essence of their biology and their mental and physical make up.

Blended-Families.com “Ask the Expert” series has invited Dr. Haltzman for an interview on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 6PM Pacific / 9PM Eastern. Dr. Haltzman will talk about eight strategies that happily married men have indicated to be the most important factors for enjoying a happy marriage while maintaining a strong sense of themselves as male.

Dr Haltzman is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University and a couples and individual counselor. Dr. Haltzman is a member of the "Love Network" of Redbook magazine, and is an editorial consultant of Best Life. He co-authored the chapter, "Men, Marriage and Divorce" in the American Psychiatric Press book: Men and Mental Health. He is an internationally recognized speaker, presenting at the Annual Smart Marriages conference and at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association. In 2007, he was honored by the Women's Resource Center of Newport & Bristol Counties (Rhode Island) as one of 19 "Men Who Make a Difference."
