Rock'n Music Idol is a search for New Jersey's most impressive musicians in the categories of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard/piano, vocals, and vocals/instrument. The competition was established in 2007 and in its first year Rock'n Music Idol attracted over 500 contestants from throughout the state, quickly becoming New Jersey's premier music talent search.
Rock'n Music Idol is open to New Jersey students ages 7-17 and split into three age brackets, 7-11, 12-14, and 15-17. The competition follows an audition process where contestants are judged by professional musicians based on style, originality, and technique. The competition culminates with a live finale where the finalists perform and the Rock'n Music Idols are selected! The winners receive professional recording studio time during which they write and record an original song with professional songwriters.
In addition, the winners receive a professional photo shoot, a chance to perform at the prestigious Stone Pony, and the distinguished title of Rock'n Music Idol.
