OSTN NBS International MediaFest to Bring in 1,000 Students and Industry Experts to Downtown Cleveland

Aug. 5, 2008 - PRLog -- Cleveland – July 3, 2008 – Open Student Television Network (OSTN), the first and only 24/7 global television network devoted to student-produced programming, today announced a partnership with the National Broadcasting Society (NBS), a nation-wide organization for college media students and professionals, to host the first-ever international student media convention featuring hands-on training, a showcase of student work and awards ceremony, panel discussions with peers and industry leaders and a visit to Cleveland production facilities.

From October 16th-18th, 2008, the OSTN NBS International MediaFest will bring hundreds of media, film and journalism students from across the United States, Canada and the UK into downtown Cleveland.

OSTN has received overwhelming support from a number of organizations within the Northeast Ohio community including:

   * Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) – The Commission is providing a Filmmaker’s Bootcamp which will provide aspiring filmmakers step-by-step training on how to write, produce, cast, direct and sell a feature
   * Playhouse Square – Playhouse Square has generously granted the use of the prestigious Allen Theatre as the host site for the students’ showcase and red carpet Awards Ceremony
