July 2008 saw the addition of two new Underground Printing campus store locations. The company now has nine locations on campuses around the country, with plans for continued aggressive expansion in the coming year.
The Pittsburgh location opened its doors last week, the company’s first location in Pennsylvania. The store, located at 117 Meyran Ave. in Oakland, is nestled in the heart of campus just between Fifth & Forbes, just up the street from the Got Used bookstore.
Store manager Joe Dopirak, a recent Pitt graduate, is eager to bring the company’s low prices and fast turnaround to his recent peers and the local business community. Underground Printing has printed for many Pittsburgh area customers in its national sales division. Following the Steelers Superbowl victory in 2006, Underground Printing was among a handful of printers in the country responsible for printing their Championship shirts for Reebok International.
The Dinkytown location in the heart of the University of Minnesota’s campus is readying for it’s own grand opening on August 25th. The store location is nearing completion and will be fully staffed by the beginning of the fall semester. The store is located next to the Kitty Cat Klub and Bruegger’s Bagel’s, just off of University Ave. The store will cater to the University’s diverse collection of student groups, greek houses, sports teams, and local businesses.
Minneapolis marks the company’s westernmost expansion to date and first location west of the Mississippi River. Underground Printing has printed for a number of customers in Minnesota through its national sales and the store in Madison, WI.
