Aug. 5, 2008 - PRLog -- Amuso has just launched the Miss Model Beauty Head Shot Contest, an online, next-generation take on the traditional beauty pageant format that launched the careers of celebrities such as Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, and even Oprah Winfrey. But this is no ordinary pageant. With a potentially global audience, and a truly democratic voting system, Amuso's contest is just about the fairest way to find the next budding supermodel.

Amuso launched in July 2008 as a platform that is set to take reality TV online. Where Amuso differs from shows like Next Top Model and American Idol however, in that it's not TV production companies or networks who create the show – it's the users themselves. Amuso lets signed up uses create their own photo or video based contest that can be entered by anybody, from anywhere in the world.

Already the contest is attracting some formidable entries, including several previous entrants from big-budget beauty contests. Contest entrant and Amuso power-user 'Stacey' is extremely pleased with the way she can rub shoulders with professional models from around the world, albeit on a virtual catwalk.

“It's really interesting to see that there are so many different types of people entering – many of my friends got involved and took some amazing pictures, but there are also a few professional models too. They have no chance against my friend Lana – she is hot!”

This opening up of realty TV comes at a time when controversy has marred several high-profile Television contests. In 2007, British Television network ITV was heavily fined for “widespread and systematic deception” over its phone in contests, whilst in May 2008, popular Presenter Terry Wogan muted that he was willing to quit his role as the voice of the Eurovision song contest in the UK, over what he perceived to be a politically biased voting system. In July, the BBC was fined £400,000 by TV watchdog Ofcom for faking the winners of a variety of phone in contests.

All this makes Amuso's Miss Model Beauty Head Shot Contest all the more valuable to entrants and talent scouts alike.
