Hilarious Dating Stories Reveal Why Author Has Stayed Single

M. Hill was tired of people asking why she was still single, so she wrote a book to explain it. Her colorful and comical tales of dating will make women who have looked long and unsuccessfully for Mr. Right roar with recognition in new book.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Aug 04, 2008 – Good dating advice is hard to come by. Often women don’t know how to say “No” to a bad blind date or a relationship that just isn’t working out. M. Hill has been there. She offers valuable dating tips based on her personal research from dates gone wrong in her entertaining new book “The Ones That Got Away—A Dating Memoir” (ISBN 9780981750002, Honeybee Publishing Company).

M. Hill began dating in her teens. Now in her forties, she has people asking why she is still single. She wishes she had an easy answer. Society expects a woman will marry, especially if she is successful and at a certain age. Hill has considered marriage and has dated plenty, but ultimately, she has decided she cannot commit to a man who is not right for her. This brave woman has refused to “settle” from fear of being alone.

Hill’s dates are certainly entertaining, and she speaks honestly about them. She has gone on blind dates and tried out online dating. Her prospective lovers have included everything from guys with wrinkly shirts and festering facial wounds to men who just couldn’t take a hint and move on. Hill is admittedly glad most of these men got away. In a couple cases, she wonders what would have happened if they had not. Marriage is not out of the question for Hill, but first she needs a man she can at least consider for a second date.

“The Ones That Got Away” reads like a book version of “Sex and the City”—if not quite as salacious then as equally full of angst for a single woman who knows a good man is hard to find. Readers will laugh until it hurts, and be moved to tears over the frustrations and wisdom that dating can bring. Everyone will appreciate Hill’s good-natured humor, her personal integrity, and her honest vulnerability in portraying herself. Her stories are a roadmap for what to expect and avoid in the dating world today. Single women will empathize. Married women will appreciate what they have.

M. Hill not only wants women to be entertained by “The Ones That Got Away,” but also to realize a woman does not need a man to validate her. She warns women not to settle. “Let’s face it,” she says, “no one’s going to find Mr. Right if they’re filling their time miserably with the wrong person.” Ultimately she hopes women will have more confidence and realize a man can’t be expected to make a woman happy. It’s being happy, whether single or married, that truly matters.
