IRVINE, California – Food Recycle Science continues its innovations in food waste recycle technologies with the introduction of the new eCorect system™ - a high-speed food waste recycling machine, through a distribution partnership with Somat Company, a division of Illinois Tool Works (ITW) Company which was recently named the 2008 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year, based in Lancaster, PA.
The eCorect system™ is a revolutionary and environmentally-
The eCorect system™ incorporates an innovative smart energy-saving technology that recycles the energy and water from the waste and automatically shuts the system down when the cycle is completed. The system requires no ventilation or plumbing and there are no negative environmental byproducts caused by BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) or TSS (Total Suspended Solids).
As part of their “Green Hotel Initiative and ECHO (Environmentally Conscious Hospitality Operations) strategy”, the Marriott Hotel located in Torrance, CA, uses the eCorect™ machine daily to effectively reduce 220 lbs of food waste and scraps to 10 lbs within 18 hours costing them only $50.00 in monthly energy costs, according to Chef Anthony Bencomo. “The eCorect™ fits the ECHO strategy and helps us reduce energy costs.” said Chef Bencomo.
“The eCorect™ produces a reusable byproduct, a soil amendment that could even be used by grounds keepers to fertilizer flower and plant beds around the property, eliminating dumping and hauling costs, ” said Silvano Merlo Assistant General Manager at Marriott. The eCorect™ effectively controls foul odors during the decomposition process and produces sterilized output.
With over 400 systems installed worldwide, eCorect™ systems are now increasingly being adopted by major Fortune 1000 US companies, waste management specialists as well as government agencies due to its smart energy recycle technology and zero negative impact on the environment. This technology will benefit commercial food service facilities, restaurants, grocery stores, hospitals, correctional facilities, military bases, cruise and military ships, hotels, colleges and universities and food manufacturers to meet the “Green Initiative” moves driven by US Congress, government agencies and Fortune 1000 companies.
“This product finally closes the ‘waste handling’ circle – food to waste, and waste to food,” said Lin Sensenig, General Manager of Somat Company. “The apple core that you throw away will eventually become a soil amendment that may be used to grow an apple tree one day! With the launch of this new machine, we can help to control trash-related odors, reduce hauling costs, and protect the environment.”
Food Recycle Science introduces the new eCorect™ system at the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) 32nd Annual Conference and Tradeshow held at the Hyatt Hotel in Burlingame, California, August 5th, 2008.
