Adopt-a-Room/University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital (Minneapolis)
After nearly a month of deliberations, we're pleased to announce 11 winners of the Spotlight Awards, a collection of AV projects that range from leading-edge to inspirational. Nine of the winners were deemed the best in their respective vertical markets; two additional winners were given special Judges' Awards for being unique applications worthy of singling out.
One of our other favorites? Check out the Adopt-a-Room project at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital, one of our two Judges' Award winners. Designed to give children facing extended hospital stays a unique experience, integrator Graybow Communications Group did everything from connect PTZ cameras on the hospital's roof so kids could see the Mississippi River on a 50-inch screen, to program LED lights that allow patients to "paint" the walls their favorite color.
