Ellie White, namesake of Ellie’s Closet (www.ElliesCloset.com), boutique limited edition clothing and accessories for distinctive kids, was recently featured on the cover of the newest brochure from the Children’s’ Diabetes Foundation (www.ChildrensDiabetesFdn.org) and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes (www.BarbaraDavisCenter.org).

The recent brochure is supporting “The Brass Ring, the Cure for Diabetes”. The Children’s Diabetes Foundation and the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes are committed to aiding children with Type I diabetes and their families. Their research centers are actively searching for a cure for this debilitating disease. Diabetes is the fifth leading cause of death in America and kills more people every year than AIDS and Breast Cancer combined.

Ellie was selected to be photographed for the cover of this brochure, and continues her personal campaign to find a cure for this disease in her lifetime. She has dedicated much of her time to several diabetes foundations, for photo shoots, various events and testing procedures.

Ellie’s Closet is committed to assisting Ellie with her goals, and in addition to a portion of their profits going to support juvenile diabetes research, they will be donating several outfits to the Brass Ring Luncheon and Silent Auction, organized by the Children’s’ Diabetes Foundation in November to raise money for a cure. They also make custom belt bags designed to carry insulin pumps and other diabetic necessities.

As a way to give back and help children like Ellie, we give 10% of our profits to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF).

It starts as a typical story - mom trying to get daughter dressed, daughter has to try on everything in the closet first (and still can't find anything to wear), mom lamenting to another mom about the lack of originality in kids' clothing options. But in this case, one of the moms happens to be an artist, and one of the moms has a degree in fashion design with more than a decade of industry experience designing women's and children's clothing for both small boutiques and major retailers.
