Rochester, MI, July 29, 2008 — Brand Labs today introduced iVoloo; an iPhone-friendly web app that allows Volusion merchants to market directly to users of the ubiquitous mobile device.
When an iPhone or iPod Touch user navigates to any Volusion site equipped with the iVoloo web app, they are immediately redirected to the i-Phone-friendly version of that store. It has the familiar iPod menu format, but retains the look of the merchant's regular Volusion store. As Brand Labs' president, Kevin Harman, explains: “The iPhone can browse the web and that's great, but it's tricky to navigate an e-commerce site when it's only three inches tall. iVoloo takes care of that problem in a way that any iPhone or iPod user will be totally comfortable with.”
iVoloo is just the latest response to the impact of Apple's wireless juggernaut. As merchants in every sector scramble to cash in on the considerable buzz generated by the multi-media device, e-commerce companies like Brand Labs are flexing to meet their needs.
“When we started out, we were just trying to simplify the browsing process for the customer, “ explains Carson Reinke, Brand Labs' lead developer, “but along the way, we realized that by isolating the iPhone users, we could do some very targeted marketing. Like, if you're selling iPhone cases, you can put 'em right up front in the iVoloo store. It's a no brainer.” Adds Harman, “... or if you're selling something more old fashioned, like calico tea cozies, for instance, you can assume that any iPhone user on your site is probably there to buy a present for someone else. Knowing that, you can then offer a variety of gift options to them right away. It's all about conversions and ease of use.”
