July 29, 2008 - PRLog -- Scotland’s most exclusive club has outdone its peers once again by becoming the first venue to host VIP table packages north of the border.

Subterranean hangout Opal Lounge, situated on Edinburgh’s George Street, has introduced packages with a minimum spend. These include premium and luxury spirits and champagnes so guests can enjoy the evening from the comfort of a reserved table in the VIP area with their favourite drinks.

Until recently the Edinburgh venue offered a membership where guests paid annually and had unlimited access to the VIP lounge. In order to inject more exclusivity back into the club and make it on a par with London and New York’s hottest night spots, guestlist requests are now submitted through the website, as are requests for tables.

Fraser Heeps, General Manager at the club which is a favourite of royals and celebrities alike, said: “When Opal Lounge opened six years ago it was the first of its kind in Scotland.

“Now there are a lot of nightclubs portraying themselves as exclusive and we wanted to ensure Opal Lounge remain at the very top of its game.

“The Table Service injects a new level of exclusivity to Opal Lounge. Our customers will come and spend a lot of money on a night out, and we want to ensure they have they receive the very best service and attention.”

Opal Lounge is set to be refurbished next month, with particular attention being paid to the VIP area.

And a special leather-bound menu of exclusive cocktails, priced at between £10 and £20, and limited edition champagnes and spirits will be on offer to customers in the sunken lounge

Table packages start at £125 per table and includes a bottle of Champagne and a bottle of premium spirit and go up to £485 if guests are in a lavish mood.

These packages allow VIP access for the host plus 5 guests to the club, which attracts not only the city’s cool crowd but also celebrities from Kate Moss to Prince William to Kiefer Sutherland.

Fraser added: “Since launching the table service we have already started to see the return of some of the original Opal crowd who have now grown up, have launched careers and have money to spend on a night out.

“The service is very personal. The hosts and I will ensure our guests have an unforgettable experience and guests will know how much their custom is appreciated.

“The best clubs in London offer this style of service and with many of our customer base frequenting the London scene, we felt it was time to raise the bar in Edinburgh.

“Opal Lounge is the first club in Scotland to have such a service and it marks our operator Montpeliers, which also runs Lulu and Tigerlily, as the leader in Scottish style entertainment.”
