The National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS) announced it has hired Weiwei Cui as the NAEP-ESSI Research Analyst. NISS partners with the American Institutes for Research (AIR and helps to operate the NAEP Education Statistics Services Institute (NESSI).
In her new role, Cui will provide the technical and substantive review of publications associated with the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), including the NAEP Report Card. The position involves challenging issues in both statistics and educational assessment.
Cui received her Ph. D. in the area of Measurement, Statistics and Evaluation from University of Maryland at College Park, and her M.S. in psychology from Beijing Normal University, China. She has served as an instructor at the University of Maryland from 2006-2008, and was a research assistant supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the supervision of Dr. James Roberts from 2003-2005. She also won a fellowship to support her doctoral study from 2003-2004 and 2005-2006. In 2001, she was the research fellow for the Health Behavior Unit, Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, at the University College of London, United Kingdom. Prior to her time at the University College of London, she held several quantitative positions at research institutions and universities in China and United Kingdom.
Cui will be located in Washington, DC. Cui and her family reside in Maryland.
