St. Charles, IL – Construction of Aquascape’s 250’x90’ signature water feature is now underway in preparation for the “World’s Most Extreme Pond Build” hosted by Aquascape, Inc. from July 12th to 16th, 2008. The training event occurs at Aqualand, the company’s corporate headquarters and is open to a select group that includes Certified Aquascape Contractors, Water Garden Excellence members, and Authorized AquascapePRO distributors.
Construction materials totaling over $200,000 have been donated to the World’s Most Extreme Pond Build. Companies donating to this one-time only event currently include Carlisle SynTec, Inc. of Carlisle, PA; Ero-Tex of Menomonee Falls, WI; Toro of Bloomington, MN; Caterpillar Inc. of Peoria, IL; Unilock of Aurora, IL; Plasticraft Corp. of Darien, WI; Tour Links of St. Petersburg, FL; Kichler Lighting of Cleveland, OH; Moerings of Roosendaal, Netherlands;
Excavation of the “World’s Most Extreme Pond Build” feature has been completed while underlayment donated by Ero-Tek and 36 mil reinforced polypropylene liner donated by Carlisle SynTec, Inc. were recently installed. The first shipment of the 1300 tons of boulders has arrived on site from Semco Outdoor of Belton, MO and includes granite boulders, weathered limestone for retaining walls and weathered sandstone boulders for the pond’s edge, stream, and waterfall. A cement grotto serving as a base for one of the waterfalls is in place and a berm will be constructed to naturalize the feature.

Additional features of the World’s Most Extreme Pond Build include:
• 1,400 tons of rock including boulders up to 50,000 lbs to be placed with cranes.
• 300,000 gallons of water with multiple pumps that produce 150,000 gallons per hour running through 8-inch lines.
• Five waterfalls ranging in height from 24 inches to 10 feet, one with grotto for behind-the-scenes viewing.
• A variety of equipment on hand for attendees to use and test, including the Toro Dingo, backhoes, Caterpillar Inc. excavators and more.

• Hands-on training sessions for landscape lighting, drip irrigation, pervious pavers installation, rain water capture and re-use, fire pit area with stadium seating installation and much more.
