The U.S. Department of Justice reports that on average a million children are reported missing each year, i.e. one child approximately every 30 seconds. In addition, statistics show that over eight million children suffer from a serious injury or chronic illness each year. Troubled by the increasing number of missing, abused and abducted children, Michael Pouls introduced the Kidz-IDz child safety program in 2000, determined to change these statistics.
Kidz-IDz offers child safety products to prevent such emergencies, including:
• Child Photo ID & Medical Emergency Cards
• Electronic IDs
• Fingerprinting, DNA & Dental Record Kits
• Safetyville Game
Michael Pouls ensured that Every Kidz-IDz ID Card came with a free Electronic ID, enabling a child's photo and important personal information to be passed along to law enforcement agencies and emergency medical personnel in an emergency. “To be able to provide such information, accurately & quickly, is the single most important responsibility of a parent,” says Michael Pouls, founder of Kidz-IDz. “The Kidz-IDz Electronic ID puts this information at your fingertips, making it available within seconds. There simply is nothing more important.”
In addition to a photo and emergency contact information, the tags also list any allergies or chronic illnesses the child has, to facilitate decisions made by doctors should medical assistance be required.
Kidz-IDz products are the exclusive ID products for the national PTA, and are also distributed through a variety of channels such as Youth Football USA, NOYS (National Association of Youth Safety) and NABCAA (North American Booster Club Association)
About Kidz-Idz
Michael Pouls came up with the idea for Kidz-IDz after reading an article that had a quiz on parenting skills which asked if parents carried recent pictures of their children with them, and if the pictures were not current, it was essential to update them for child safety. Thus the idea for Kidz-IDz was born.
Michael Pouls ensures that Kidz-Idz does not maintain a database of any sort, once the card is ordered the information is destroyed. Parents are encouraged to renew the card every six months, and renewals are free.
