July 25, 2008 - PRLog -- Doctors, nurses and therapists are astounded by one man’s ability to beat the odds after a massive and normally deadly stroke.  “Normally one would be a vegetable after something like this, but he is a miracle 10 times over”, states Monica Michals licensed Physical Therapist.
On May 30, Mark E. Furman suffered a major stroke due to a complete blockage of an artery in his neck.   He experienced a complete loss of movement on the right side, visual changes and inability to speak.   He would have died had he not undergone surgery to remove a 3 inch x 5 inch piece of his skull to relieve the life-threatening pressure on his brain.  His bone will not be surgically replaced for another three months.  He spent two weeks in intensive care fighting an infection and one week on a ventilator.
He has faced other tremendous medical challenges including two massive blood clots in both legs that required surgery to place a filter in a vein in his abdomen.  Another clot was found lodged in his lung depriving him of the ability to breathe without incredible pain and constant coughing.  This grave condition alone involved the tentative balance of medications to thin his blood without causing bleeding in his brain which would have taken his life.  He has endured two separate events in which his blood pressure and heart rate dropped dangerously low, causing the doctors to have concern for a heart attack. He has battled other conditions such as: allergic reaction to a medication causing liver problems, anemia -- which required a blood transfusion, severe dehydration -- necessitating continuous IV’s, and multiple fevers due to an unknown reason.
Incredibly, these last two weeks Mark has progressively regained his endurance and strength and continues to show amazing physical progress.  How is this possible?  He is using modern medicine with a technology that is ingenious and still relatively unknown.
Mark E. Furman is the founder of a branch of science called Cognitive Neurophysics or CNP.  CNP incorporates 30 branches of sciences that results in a revolutionary internal technology called Mind Imaging.  Like a genetic profile, we all have a distinctive mind profile of thoughts, emotions and beliefs.
“All behavior changes are made at the level of the neural net” stated Furman.  Mind Imaging results in a map or a model of a person’s environment, emotions, belief patterns and behaviors in order to understand, predict and change human behavior.   Furman contends that we must see our unique wiring before we can access it or even change it.  Finding your way to positive emotions and behaviors that promote healing and recovery are a must to overcoming any debilitating conditions and return to healthy life.
Furman continues to amaze his doctors and therapists as he recovers from his stroke at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas, CA.
