CNN's Soledad O'Brien looks at the women in Hip-Hop videos, whom critics say send a bad message. CNN goes behind the scenes with this highly controversial editorial piece on Blacks in America: Video Vixens Too Revealing? Model and Actress Melyssa Ford speaks on her early years as one of the leading video vixens in the industry and now television personality. Melyssa has been one of the few vixens that has gone on to further success with acting. She has been on the small screen with parts on Entourage and WB’s The Game, co-host a radio show on Sirius’ Hot Jamz and has completed feature films like Days of Wrath (Wilmer Valderrama and Laurence Fishburne) and Love for Sale (Jackie Long, Maya and Clifton Powell) which is being featured in the America Black Film Festival.
CNN also went behind the scenes with Pink Diamond Management's CEO and Founder, Daniella Cobb and Publicist, Lexi Chow of Lexi Chow Pr & Company for a first hand look at a model casting for rap group Square Off’s video "Hey" (the first single of their mixtape Fresh 2 Def). Perspective models had to audition for the lead role, they went through a short interview with Daniella Cobb, Lexi Chow, Trips (Square Off member) and Majestic Powell (video director). Then were required to dance to make sure that they had rhythm. Square Off is a three member group Slim, Gleamz and Trips of whom are sons of Hip Hop icon Doug E. Fresh and are in the stages of creating their official album on Square Off Entertainment indie label and filming Fresh’s reality show on VH1. They will be shooting their first video with indie film and music video director Myrone Majestic Powell.
